  i'd like to work toward ensuring that the wts bans pedophiles from sharing in the door to door work out of consideration for the public.

  i'd like to ensure that this ban applied not just to those who have been convicted of pedophile activities but also to those who have secretly confessed to elders.

  would this subject be appropriate for an e-petition?

  No offender should be allowed access to his or her victims of choice.

  I think a bigger issue should be: Who's held responsible when a sex-offender or abuser is sheltered, allowed privileges and access to victims then (re)offends? Shouldn't all involved be punished both by law and within the organization? Wouldn’t this be a bigger protection than just simply limiting an individual?

  How many sex-offenders, abusers and law-breakers do you think the elders would willing to hide if they though they could be held responsible in any way?

  i also spend all day everyday with educated people due to my career.

  one thing stands out to me for sure, by far the majority of the regular posters here are intelligent and informed.

  @Flat_Accet: Very true, but for most it's just laziness; going beyond their beliefs is too much work, so they stick with what they got, what's easy.

  Think of the population en-mass; most simply don't want truth they are perfectly happy, ignorantly floating along.

  In my experience though, most intelligent individuals (not smart sheeple) aren’t satisfied with this type of complacency.

  Yes, FACTS don't lie and the FACT that wash-towel overlooks this makes them deserving of scrutiny (more than most other pseudo religions).

  The WTBT$ is trying to put a square peg in a round hole and then expecting us to believe without a doubt that it fits perfectly.

  The FACT is it doesn’t, no matter how hard you try it never will.

  If one were to shun and ignore Witnesses does that make one just as bad as them?

  for all the criticism of jehovah's witnesses' shunning policy, if one (an ex jw) were to deliberately avoid contact with witnesses and, dare i say, shun them, does that mean that one is just as bad?.

  Well-said Billy, there is a big difference between something baseless, forced and mandatory and a personal choice.

  @ThomasCovenant: Exes usually don’t have to worry about this, active witlesses won’t come close enough for a good shunning anyway; however I don’t think most exes would shun because somewhere deep down is a bit of compassion for those poor little misguided sheeple, and the fact that you know how it feels.

  Personally I avoid someone (in or out) because they were an asshole and I don't care to be around them; everyone else is fine (even if I don’t agree with them).

  here in california, i have to get a smog, which is an emissions test in order to register my vehicle.

  does your state require an emissions test?

  a regular inspection of the vehicle, or none?

  Washington state pretty much says give us your money and GO! You can be billowing black smoke and spraying gas all over the road, but if you've paid their fees, you're cleared for take off.

  Better yet, I don't meet too many highly intelligent witlesses. (The only one's I've met don't last long, or stop believing soon after joining and linger for various reasons i.e. association with family, fear of shunning and so on.)

  i remember that along with the eye, synapses were often quoted as an example of irreducible complexity by jw's and other creationists, from 4:38 on this video there is a great explanation of why this is not so.

  The reality is if we didn't use 99% of our brain we'd simply die. Our bodies work off of electrical and chemical signals, if our brain didn't work at capacity the electro-chemical signals would stop and no longer tell our organs to function or our glands to secrete essential hormones (chemicals); life would cease.

  They know the law and take advantage of every opportunity to scoot around it in the never-ending maze of loopholes within governments; which leads me to ask: Are they honoring God by trying to find ways of getting out of paying back Cesar's things to Cesar for the sake their riches?

  I went to visit a friend on the east coast and she suggested we drive up to New York to tour the facilities; this was about 12 years ago. I live in the middle of nowhere, so driving long trips is the norm, but that drive was insufferable and sooooo incredibly boring; the only reason I agreed to go was because most everything was still in the city and I really wanted to go to New York. (Since this wasn't part of a wash-towel sanctioned tour we spent very little time touring their facilities and more time having a blast in the city.)

  If you’re thinking about going, DON’T!, unless your idea of fun is being shuttled, shuffled and herded around to office buildings, commercial printers, large dining rooms and housing projects.

  If this is your cup of tea don’t buy their travel and accommodations packages, they make you think it’s a deal but they’re ripping you off and their schedule makes sure you don’t have time for anything else fun; you know cause New York is nothing to see anyway.

  Save your money for a REAL vacation, one that will actually be enjoyable, fun and relaxing.

  It makes no sense whatsoever that a" CREATOR" would only communicate with a minority of the population then put the onus on them to convey this life saving message to the WHOLE wide world

  i now find it idiotic that i could ever beleive the bible to be the inspired word of god.....,throughout the bible "god"has only dealt with a few of his favoured spokespersons to deliver his messages to a minority populace.individuals at first,..... then, patriarchs,nomads,a small nation,ignoring all other nations that had sprung up.......,abandoning his chosen nation,sending his "son"to a small nation, only giving them his pearls of wisdom,much of what was not even recorded for prosperity and remember he never wrote a word,it was left up to other imperfect humans to record what he was supposed to have said,just a smidgen......,again ignoring the bulk of humankind keeping them in ignorance of his plan for universal salvation,leaving it all up to imperfect humans to spread this message of salvation, whom he has already condemned for their sinfullness and disobedience.i just find it so unbeleivable.

  in the 6000 years of recorded history only a fraction of the earths population,maybe less than a third have ever heard of the god of the bible, or his so called plan to redeem humankind ,thats millions and millions of people.

  ( india,arabic,afghanistan,pakistan etc.etc.).

  Numerous things about the contemporary Bible, and the God there in, don't make sense. The portrayal of the God of Christianity is an all knowing, seeing, powerful and loving benevolent being, but their own manuscript proves otherwise; all you have to do is look inside this supposed “manifesto of God” to find back-asswords logic and idiocracy in every scenario and fable.
